Our Philosophy

The RCS Caring Steps Children’s Center provides a warm, nurturing, and loving environment where children can grow through early childhood development-based programs and rich academic experiences. Family, school, and community partnerships ensure that we can create a home away from home for every child within our program.

Curriculum

The educational philosophy of the RCS Caring Steps preschool program uses the HighScope Curriculum and is inspired by the acclaimed Reggio Emilia approach and supported by The Creative Curriculum, where we encourage participation, communication, and collaboration among children, staff, and parents.

In order to guide learning and growth, every child’s progress is monitored using 38 areas of development. These include:  social-emotional and physical development, language, literacy, cognition, mathematics, science and technology, social studies, the creative arts, and English language acquisition.

RCS Caring Steps Children’s Center is fully licensed with the state of Michigan. We are also proud to be awarded a four-star Great Start to Quality rating.

Nothing is more important than the safety and security of our most precious gifts—our children. The RCS Caring Steps Children’s Center is a secure facility. All visitors must enter through the main entrance using the visitor verification system. All exterior doors remain locked throughout the day to keep our children safe.
